Gosaikunda
Gosaikunda holds deep religious importance, especially for Hindus and Buddhists. According to Hindu mythology, the lake was created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his trident (Trishul) into a mountain to drink water after swallowing poison. It is considered sacred, and thousands of pilgrims, especially during Janai Purnima (full moon in August), visit Gosaikunda to bathe in its holy waters. It is believed that bathing in the lake cleanses sins and brings blessings.
